The American Veterinary Dental Society is dedicated to educating veterinarians and the general  public about the importance of veterinary dentistry.  In order to help educate our clients about the importance of veterinary dentistry and the need to have your pet's teeth cleaned, we have described one of the most common oral problems we at NEVH see in our patients' mouths.

Retained Baby Teeth:  Two canine teeth trying to occupy the same space at the same time.  The deciduous tooth (baby tooth) needs immediate extraction to prevent damage to the permanent tooth and to the bite.  The "baby teeth" have very long roots.
