STAFF BUZZ

The staff at NEVH is well trained, and each individual is working with your pet because they truly love animals and enjoy working with them. Staff Buzz gives an informal insight into what is going on in their lives.

  • Dr. Carrie Cummings and Dr. Jennifer Nelms attended continuing education courses at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in April.  This was Dr. Cummings 5th year class reunion and Dr. Brooks 30th year class reunion. This month, Dr. Brooks studied the zoonotic potential for feline & canine intestinal parasites and the latest developments in the treatment of canine heart worm disease.  These recent classes marked 64 hours of continuing education for Dr. Brooks.  Each doctor at NEVH is dedicated to keeping up to date in all areas of Small Animal Medicine & Surgery.
  • The NEVH Staff studied flea & tick prevention with special emphasis on the customization of parasite prevention for the individual pet.
  • Happy Birthday to Hollis!  Lots more birthdays coming up in July.
  • Dr. Linda Brooks was recently interviewed by Candice Felice on Georgia Public Radio at WPPR  Piedmont College.  Did you hear the interview?
  • NEVH is very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with so many brilliant veterinary students.  K. C. visited us recently from the University of Glasgow College of Veterinary Medicine.  Katie, Dr. Cummings' sister is working with us until she begins her veterinary studies.
  • The outstanding staff at NEVH was in charge of the recent AAHA re-certification inspection.  Of course, we passed with scores at the top of every category.  You can always bring your pet to NEVH with complete confidence.
  • We enjoyed working with Carole A. on her recent externship.  Carole is doing it all.  She and her husband have a new daughter, and she working toward a specialty in small animal reproduction.
  • All the staff is busy starting to learn our new practice software.  We are all very excited about the great advancements we will now be able to accomplish.
  • Lots of people are taking advantage of the opportunity to visit NEVH behind the scenes.  We love to showcase our clean, beautiful hospital.  Have you had a hospital tour?
